
(CSPMA)
ARTICLE I-Organization
A.
The Organization shall be known
as the “Colorado School Plant Managers’
Association”, “CSPMA”.
B.
The Organization may be further
divided into local chapters.
ARTICLE II- Objectives
A.
To promote the general welfare of
Building/Facilities Maintenance, Grounds
and Custodial Services personnel.
B.
To provide and support
educational programs that will improve
or enhance the professional abilities of
CSPMA members.
C.
To promote the highest
standard of professional ethics for
CSPMA members.
D.
To promote positive and
collaborative relationships among CSPMA
members.
E.
To facilitate the exchange of
best practices and benchmarking among
and between CSPMA members.
F.
To disseminate information
relative to the activities of the CSPMA,
and to express and circulate the
opinions and convictions of its
membership on all subjects related to
the purposes of the organization.
ARTICLE III-Membership
A.
Active membership is open to K-12
school employees engaged in an
administrative or supervisory role with
responsibilities related to one or more
of the following functions:
Building/Facilities Operations,
Maintenance, Outdoor Services (Grounds),
Custodial Services,
Safety/Environmental, Energy Managers,
Construction & Project Managers, and
others approved by the CSPMA Board.
B.
Emeritus membership may be
bestowed upon any individual who has
contributed outstanding service to the
CSPMA.
C.
CSPMA members may approve
affiliate membership.
i.
CSPMA will pursue affiliation
with the Colorado Association of School
Business Officials (CASBO), in order to
further the interests of the CSPMA.
ii.
CSPMA will pursue affiliation
with the Colorado Association of School
District Energy Managers (CASDEM).
ARTICLE IV-Meetings
A.
Meetings shall be the fourth
Friday of each month (or as alternately
scheduled) during the period September
through May. A Summer meeting may also
take place. One meeting in the Spring
and one meeting in the Fall may coincide
with the schedule and location of the
CASBO conference.
B.
The CSPMA president shall be
responsible for coordinating agenda
items for each meeting, in collaboration
with the host district.
C.
Meeting dates and locations are
normally decided upon at the last
meeting in May of each year.
ARTICLE V-Officers
A.
The CSPMA shall have three
elected officers: president,
vice-president, and secretary/treasurer.
B.
The CSPMA shall have four board
members, to include the past president
and 3 regional directors from each
regional chapter. The regions shall be
defined as the Northern Region, the
Southern Region, and the Western Region.
C.
Term of office shall be two
years.
D.
Officers and board members shall
be elected in October with term of
office beginning in January of the
following year.
E.
Term of office shall be January 1
through December 31.
F.
The secretary/treasurer and board
members may be elected to consecutive
terms.
G.
The president shall be the
national representative of the CSPMA.
H.
The president may form special
committees and appoint committee members
when appropriate.
I.
The vice president shall become
president on January 1, to coincide with
the end of the current president’s term.
J.
The secretary/treasurer shall be
responsible for all monies belonging to
the CSPMA and submit periodic financial
reports to members.
ARTICLE VI-Dues
A.
To be determined in the future by
the membership.
ARTICLE VII-Amendments
The board shall review CSPMA by-laws
annually, or more often if needed, and
recommended changes deemed necessary to
the general membership. Approval of
by-laws’ amendments shall be by quorum
and simple majority of CSPMA members
present.
ARTICLE VIII- Vendor sponsorship
A. Vendor sponsorship has been approved
to support the financial obligations of
the CSPMA website and for the ancillary
meeting costs incurred by host
districts.
